MUSIC, THEATER & SLAM POETRY

Louder than a Bomb at the Dunes. Benevolent Media presents a fundraiser to help stage the city's first-ever Louder Than a Bomb High School Poetry Slam Festival this summer. The evening features live performances by D.C.'s youth poets, excerpts from Louder Than a Bomb, a documentary about the world's largest teen poetry slam, a silent auction and frozen treats. Friday. 7 p.m. $10 suggested donations. 18+.

The Washington National Opera presents Cosi fan tutte, Mozart's story of love and seduction, at the Kennedy Center. Opens Saturday. $25-$300.

Intersections presents "READ: White and Blue" at Atlas. Hueman Prophets explores the themes of perception, self-reflection, class and race in this play about a writer unable to finish his novel about an ex-con turned t-shirt vendor. Friday - Sunday. $15. 16+.

Alert: The 90's! Leigh Nash, the former lead vocalist of Sixpence None the Richer performs at Jammin' Java. Saturday. 7 p.m. $15/$18.

Steez Promo presents Dub Nation DC with Smash Gordon, Bare and Hulk at 9:30 Club. Saturday. 10 p.m. $15.

Javelin, the project of duo Tom Van Buskirk and George Langford, at Red Palace. With Black Hills. Saturday. 8 p.m. $12/$14. 18+.

EXHIBITS & FILMS

Megatron's Dead opens at Porch Projects. The collaborative multimedia exhibition honoring Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, features artists Bonner Sale, Samuel Scharf and Zac Willis. Saturday opening reception. 4 p.m. Exhibition available by appointment at all other times.

PhotoFilm! Film Series, an exploration of the still image in a cinematographic medium, opens at Goethe-Institut. Saturday. Screenings at various theaters.

Fiander Film Festival, a series of one-minute films featuring the works of more than 30 filmmakers, at the Dunes. Saturday. 8 p.m. $3.50/$5.

SUNDAY OSCAR PARTIES

Town Oscars Party: Predict winners to win prizes, entertainment during commercial breaks and drinks! 7:30 p.m. $20. 21+.

Helix Lounge Oscars Happy Hour: Drink and food specials, inspired by the Oscar-nominated films ? Southern Sweet Tea, Aloha, Oscar!, Spiel-Burgers ? all night. 5 p.m.

Ditch the glitz and glam at Stars in Bars Oscars viewing party on the Backstage at Black Cat. 7 p.m. Free.

Oscar Night at the Heights with happy hour specials, movie-themed cocktails and small plates, cast your own ballots and watch the show on four big-screen TVs. 5 p.m.

An Art Soiree Academy Awards live viewing at The Hamilton. The Black-Tie Optional affair hosted by Sandro and Tati features live jazz, Oscar-themed cocktails and nominations for "Best Dress to Kill Woman" and "Best Dress to Kill Man," as well as Oscars pools.? 6 p.m. $25.

Wear whatever you want at DC Film Society's Oscars Party at Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse. Door prizes, predict the winner prizes, food, booze and comfy seats. 6:30 p.m. $20.
