With the unemployment rate remaining stubbornly high, foreclosure still knocking on the door of struggling homeowners, and a less than impressive consumer savings rate, the?NFCC membership will gather in Charlotte, NC October 1 ? 3, eager to address the many pressing issues confronting Americans.?
?It can be argued that there has never been a more critical time to focus on the economic hardships facing consumers and develop concrete solutions to help them find financial stability,? said Susan C. Keating, president and CEO of the NFCC.
This year?s event will bring together more than 250 NFCC Member Agency executives, credit counselors, national leaders, and stakeholders from around the country. Conference attendees will benefit from remarks provided by an impressive list of speakers, as well as presentations, panels and workshops around best practices in the financial education sector, providing agency representatives with the tools to better serve consumers.?

- Susan C. Keating, NFCC president & CEO, delivering the State of the Credit Counseling Sector address;
- Secretary Shaun Donovan, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, discussing the housing sector challenges facing Americans today, and initiatives being taken to address housing concerns;
- The Honorable Bev Perdue, Governor of North Carolina, providing remarks around challenges in the current economy and how important the link is between education and credit counseling;
- Charles P. Blahous, III, public trustee for Social Security and Medicare Programs, delivering remarks on ?The Aging of America ?
